Job Description

• To control all general ledger accounting functions leading to satisfactory closure monthly accounts.
• Provide documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transactions.
• To develop and prepare monthly financial statement and to meet fiscal and statutory reporting deadlines
• Maintain required files, reports, and data to reconcile and rectify all ledger accounts belonging to customers.
• Generate Sales invoices and reports.
• Reconcile accounts that fall into receivable records with the sales invoices.
• Follows up all transactions continuously and provide updates to the management
• Develop and maintain relationship with banks / financial institutions and negotiate extension of credit facilities and Hedging facilities.
• Ensure optimum utilisation of funds, minimise borrowing cost and avail the best returns on surplus funds
• Prepare detailed cash flow forecast and monitor the cash flow of the company.
• Arrange for funds for working capital, capex as and when required.
• Negotiate with banks and arrange short term borrowings
• Manage the capital expenditure approval process and monitor actual spend against these projects
• Capitalise the assets commissioned on a timely basis and ensure they are recorded in the fixed assets register accurately
• Prepare and various schedule relating to fixed assets register including CWIP and depreciation, provision, accruals and monitor the fixed assets of the company.
• Reconcile the fixed asset accounts monthly with GL and prepare quarterly schedules forming part of the company’s financials
• Ensure timely remittance and clearing of payments and receipts denominated in both local and foreign currencies.
• Monitor all banking activities in order to detect irregularities
• Ensure that cash amounts in a company’s accounting ledgers reconcile with actual bank balance
• Reconcile the items that do not reconcile with the bank statements.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports regarding all cash deposits to the bank(s)
• Monitor company and implement Opex control to improve cost efficiency.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports
• Prepare and the company’s annual budgeted plan for the company
• Assist auditors – internal and external – with documentation required for the auditors to do their job satisfactorily
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
